News – good and bad – tends to come as a surprise. You don’t anticipate tripping over the dog, or that car being ‘right there!’ when you run into it, say. You don’t anticipate the turtle landing on your bald head because the eagle thinks it’s a rock.
And you don’t anticipate your book being selected by the Junior Library Guild. (I’m informed that they like to be tagged. Happy to do so. Bless the @jrlibraryguild and if I have ever had bad thoughts about you I disavow them.)
In other news, my grandson can sit up by himself.
Ooh, that opens a can of worms. Ought I to assume pronouns? My grandchild babbles, but does not have words yet. Maybe I should announce that they can sit up by themselves.
This is not entire snark.
